Guyver
Elfin - scale 1/8
This is the first vinyl conversion I made and is one of the two models
I used to compete at JafCon96 (see page 49 of Hobby Japan 10/"96
) with the GP01 one. It has been a light conversion because I only modified
the position from standing to running and Jump one. I cutted the vinyl
with a sharp blade and with other pieces of vinyl glued with cianocrylate
I made the new position you can see in photos. As putty I used the english
Kneadite (yellow-Blue that mixed becames green and has a good adhesion
on vinyl , thing that milliput doesn't have). Working with wet tools I
made the texture of the joints between the armour pieces. I gived a good
hand of primer and I coloured it with Gunze colors and the Airbrush to
make shadows and Lights, a black oil wash has finished the work. the right
hand blade was reconstruced bigger with a piece of plasticard. For the
base I used some low cost italian Putty (Dash) to make the rock and I
done after a first colouring with cobalt blue from Lifecolor 7 passages
of drybrush (see the Tips&Tricks section for explanation of this
technique) with various tones of gray to finish with a light flesh
one. The overal work seems good to me and I obtained what I was looking
for (it was only 2 years I was making models). I hope it looks good also
to you all.
