ELFIN - 1/35 Resin Recast

This is a Recast from ELFIN of the head of gundam RX-78. This is part of the full model in 1/35 scale made by Volks in 1995, with few parts, 10 in total. My friend roberto asked me if he could make a recast from my original one (Elfin made) and this is the result. It's difficult to make such a big model, roberto has done a very good work with painting and weathering. You may think that in such a big scale every detail is seen very well so you have to do a very good work on it. As colors he used Tamiya, Phebeo acrylic airbrush colors and oil ones. He made no customizing but only closed some little bubble air holes with putty. The Photos can't give the right impression about colors and weathering effects. There are also some little scratches made with a brush and some black and silver color, take care that there is no rust but only oil loss. In the original kit by Elfin there are also the clear plastic part (vacuformed) to protect the eyes and the main front and rear sensors, roberto made a master to make others for his copy. It's him that vacuformed on the master of the glass for the core fighter cockpit I made. Most of the painting work has been done with airbrush, the other is by brush and oil colors. You can see on the photo of the recast pieces how big it is. I hope you enjoyed looking it as I done.
